Notes for John (Jack) PARTRIDGE
Took the king's shilling and fought in India and in South Africa in the Boer War. He used to sing a little ditty which went as follows:
Lord Roberts and Kitchener, Generals Buller and White
All dressed up in their khaki
All ready to fight

And when we get Kruger
How happy we'll be
To have a good swing on his whiskers
And give him a bloater for tea
