Notes for Betty ANDREW
Has now retired from the Hammersmith & Fulham Carers’ Centre, having been a member of its management committee from the very beginning and chair of the committee from 2004 to 2006. Did voluntary work in a local charity shop, the Geranium Shop (Greater London Fund for the Blind) for many years. Has lived in Fulham, London, since 1962. Is still in touch with many of the girls she used to teach. Has written her autobiography ‘We Save Bits of String’ (St Christopher Prerss,’ 2011). A very good cook.
