Practised at Swadlincote, Leicestershire, for many years. Was at the Manchester Unity Odd Fellows Medical Institute in Lincoln from 1907 to 1918. His first wife, Edith Brummell, died, and he re-married. He retired in 1925 after another seven years practice in Lincoln, and then moved to Skegness.
