Notes for Alice SKINNER
Went to England in 1811; stayed with the Berridge family in Wood Street, London; goes to Cheltenham, Bath, and Sandgate, visiting her friends Mrs Akers, Mrs Pitcher and Lady Deering; returns to St Kitts in March 1813. In 1817 she had a mulatto slave called Polly, 35 years, who was a lady’s maid and nurse.
